Crayons and paint 1

I’ve been spotting a lovely trend of late. The rawness of art media translated into fashion and homewear ranges. Loving this creative influx and in the’Crayons and paint’ titled posts I will show off some of these inspired designs. Enjoy!

Céline who has veered away from her traditionally minimalist look and opted for color, prints, mesh and fringe! Her S/S 2014 collection prints are bold strokes of the brush and although a step away from her norm they are distinctly beautiful and strong.

Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel showed off rainbow paint palette prints for the Spring 2014 collection. Bold and bright.

Descriptives of this trend: stark, objective, no emotion, metallics, futurism, hyper-technological, rigidity, curves and waves, controlled, asymmetry, geometrics.

Descriptives of this trend: magical, enchantment, the everyday seen with new eyes, warm and cool, iridescence, holographics, filtered shades, repeated actions, fine detail, familiar settings.

Descriptives of this trend: equilibrium, restraint, renaissance architecture, vanishing points, stark, set square and compass, sense of perfection, utopia, space and volume, solids and voids, neutrality. Natural fabrics such as cotton, linen, and wool used.

Descriptives of this trend: intersecting lines, piping, blocks of colour, sports and urban wear, industrial skyline, labyrinth, maps, birds eye view, childlike, primary colours, technical and high performance materials, meshing, asphalt and white bases.
